The Fabian Society is delighted to partner on this event with Toynbee Hall. On December 1 1941 the Beveridge Report set out the makings of the welfare state – and since then Britain has changed dramatically. Exactly 70 years on, Labour’s Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary, Liam Byrne will give a keynote speech as he sets out how we can build a system of social security fit for the challenges of the 21st century.
The lecture will start at 11 and finish at 12 and there will be an opportunity to ask questions.
