hustings14 June - As a fun addition to the evening, we conducted an exit poll as part of our Labour leadership hustings. Delegates were asked to name their first preference for Labour leader. Here are the results: Ed Miliband: 39.9%, David Miliband: 30.7%, Diane Abbott: 12.9%, Andy Burnham: 11.0%, Ed Balls: 5.5%

**Delegates were asked to submit their votes between the end of the event and midday 15th June. Votes were counted and cross-referenced with the final delegate list to ensure votes were submitted by conference attendees. Duplicate votes were only counted once.**

The Fabians, in partnership with Progress, Labour List, Left Foot Forward, the Young Fabians and Compass, held a hustings at the Insitute of Education on 14 June. After the hardest-fought election in a generation, the Labour Party is preparing to select a new leader. The aim of the event was to hear from the candidates directly about their vision and strategies for the future of the party. It was a lively discussion held in front of 600 delegates and chaired by Gaby Hinsliff, former political editor of the Observer.
