Scotland Working: Developing a vision for industry and work in Scotland 1.15pm – 5pm
The economic crisis has ushered in a re-evaluation of industrial policy and economic management. Two aspects of the Scottish economy have become clear: first is our reliance on oil and finance industries; second is the issue of working poverty and lack of opportunity for many in the workplace. These realisations have ushered in renewed interest in industrial policy and the role of the state in shaping the economy.
This Scottish Fabian conference seeks to look at methods and models to reshape our economy: building better industry through building better work.
There will be two panel sessions and members-led workshops; details of these will follow in the coming weeks.
