Meg is Senior Research Fellow at the Constitution Unit, University College London, where she is a specialist in parliament and its reform.
She is author of Reforming the House of Lords: Lessons from Overseas (OUP, 2000) and has written numerous research papers and reports. From 2001-3 she was seconded as an adviser to Robin Cook in his role as Leader of the House of Commons. She has previously worked as a researcher to Clare Short MP and was the Labour Party's National Women's Officer from 1996-98.
Meg has been on the Labour Women's Network steering committee since 1996, and from 1998-2002 was a member of Labour's National Policy Forum (representing London CLPs). She was a co-opted member of the Fabian Research and Publications Committee from 2000, and was elected onto the Executive in 2002. She is now vice chair of the Research and Publications Committee.
